President’s Message: Celebrating Change in Our Platinum Year

Dear Members of the International Air Cargo Association of Chicago (IACAC),
What’s more exciting than a bunch of IACAC members at PuttShack?
Dozens of them!
We had a wonderful night in Oakbrook. Our members enjoyed great food, beverages, and plenty of fun experiencing PuttShack together.
If you weren’t able to attend, we would love to see you at our next event — March Madness!
As we celebrate our 70th anniversary, we are focused on doing more: more networking, more education, and more engaging events for our members.
If you or someone you know would like to become a member, please visit the link below to learn about membership benefits. And if you’re interested in volunteering on one of our committees, feel free to reach out to me directly via email.
Here’s to another great 70 years — and we look forward to seeing you at our next event!
Yours sincerely,
Christina Aguirre
President, IACAC

Chicago Aviation News
Aviation Commissioner Rhee Steps Down
Chicago Department of Aviation Commissioner Jamie Rhee announced her retirement on February 13, 2025, effective April 15, 2025, after nearly seven years of leadership.
During her tenure, Rhee served under four Chicago mayors and oversaw major transformations at both O’Hare International Airport and Midway International Airport.
Her departure comes during a pivotal period, as O’Hare undergoes an $8.5 billion modernization project, including construction of a new Global Terminal replacing Terminal 2.
Mayor Brandon Johnson praised her service, highlighting her lasting impact on Chicago’s aviation infrastructure and public service legacy.
O’Hare and Midway Powered by 100% Renewable Energy
Chicago has achieved a major sustainability milestone by transitioning all city facilities to 100% renewable energy.
This initiative includes powering both O’Hare and Midway airports through renewable sources such as solar and wind energy. Because airports are among the city’s largest energy consumers, this transition significantly reduces Chicago’s carbon footprint.
The move reinforces Chicago’s leadership in environmental responsibility and positions the city at the forefront of the growing green economy.
